Gabrielle Dalmasy
Each month RG175 does a "deeper dive" to get to know one of our Independent School colleagues. This month we are spotlighting Gabrielle Dalmasy Gabrielle is originally from the Dominican Republic and emigrated to Miami at the age of 10. She attended the University of Miami receiving a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and a Master’s in Counseling at Pace University in New York. She joined Marymount School of New York where she was a Campaign Associate and there found a passion for fundraising and development work. She went on to Loyola Marymount University, working with the College. of Business Administration before joining Compound as Development Manager. She is currently the Director of Major Gifts and Strategic Partnership at Wildwood School in California.
What’s your connection to RG175?
I was connected to RG175 through longtime fellow advancement colleague and friend, Jim Pattison. We had met years ago in regard to another role and when I moved to LA, I reached out to touch base and Jim let me know about potential opportunities through RG175.
Can you summarize your experience working with RG175?
I interviewed with the organization and then RG175 gathered all my info and references and relayed it to the employer.
If you had one thing to recommend to other candidates, what would it be?
Have references and documents ready before beginning the work search process.
What do you enjoy most about your job as it pertains to Independent Schools?
The close-knit community of colleagues, superiors, students and parents that make the job enjoyable every day. The true focus on donor-centric fundraising.
What are some of your greatest achievements?
Securing multiple major gifts over my time as a front-line fundraiser. Excelling in new, more complex roles in development.
How has Covid-19 affected your job/business and how have you adapted?
I lost two different jobs to COVID over the last two years. I had to be flexible, patient, and overall trusting that things would one day come together.
