What’s your connection to RG175?
I was introduced to RG175 by Jim Pattison in 2018. Since that introduction, I have been both a candidate of RG175 and member of search committees that worked directly with RG175 consultants. Being on both sides of the hiring process, I have been both impressed and grateful for their involvement.
Can you summarize your experience working with RG175?
My experience working with RG175 has been amazing, both as a candidate and as a hiring institution. I have been impressed by the amount of time consultants take in really understanding hiring institutions as well as qualified candidates to best ensure success for both the candidate and institution.
If you had one thing to recommend to other candidates what would it be?
I would recommend that candidates think deeply about their professional trajectory and to the degree possible, have clarity of the type of school culture that you're looking to join. It is important that both the candidate and school are enthusiastic about welcoming, and being welcomed into a community. Perhaps now more than ever, schools are in need of committed professionals looking to join and remain at our schools for multiple years.
What do you enjoy most about your job as it pertains to Independent Schools?
I feel honored to have worked at Independent Schools for most of my career as this is an industry that encourages professional growth and learning. After nearly 30 years, I can still optimistically say that we have the opportunity to make the impossible, actually possible. It is a privilege to be surrounded by so many dedicated individuals who are making a positive difference in the lives of our students each and every day.
What are some of your greatest achievements?
In terms of my achievements, I would argue that this is a difficult question to answer. I would share that what I am most proud of is knowing that regardless of school or role, I was able to be a member of great teams that positively impacted the lives and futures of our students. Regardless of position or institution, I have been surrounded by thoughtful, intentional, and strategic individuals who have given their all to Independent Schools.
